The final work will be of about 3 per 1,4 meters, and will be an homage to Dada movement. In his studio of Almería, in the south of Spain, Ilan Wolff is working from a few days immersed in the creation of a piece that combine several developing and printing techniques, and continues the line of large format works that he has been developing for years (here a report on a Lunagram made in 2011, with similar techniques, on the beach of Cabo de Gata).
The work was commissioned by his friend Shmuel Grünberg, who traveled from Zurich for a few days to help and be part of the creative process. In this video, made on Monday 16 of november, I show his work in one of the preliminary tests in smaller format.

Feeling privileged by the access to the workshop of this artist, I simply follow the creative process, without interfering at all in it. On many occasions, for example, it is seen, and heard, the suffering of the lens (which is not specific for video recordings) in its effort to focus the movements in the difficult light conditions of the workshop…
Still, I think this is an interesting document, and will appeal to lovers of photography as an Art form, and connoisseurs of the work of Ilan Wolff. The final realization of the definitive work, in sepia color is coming. In the coming days…
